Tsubaki could well have played with it and made a huge misunderstanding out of it, have Rei's friends (and Yuu) be concerned about her potentially getting into one such relationship, and the same about the guy's friends, only for everything to be revealed to be completely innocent (and stupid).

She comes across as a girl who tries her hardest, has a cheerful personality, and looks good. Regardless of what strange job she actually has.
The real question is why does Miyako like Ryouske? To be honest I think she likes him because he’s good as a manga character. Time will tell if he can be a mangaka’s assistant. Maybe he’ll learn from Chiyo or Wakamatsu.
