That's precisely why the MC makes it a huge deal to Castor that he went out of his way to look for people with the skills and talents he lacks to work on his side for the good of their small Kingdom. On top of that, magic exists, so there are things that would be an issue in our world (construction time here in particular) that can now be reduced.the author really underestimates the complexity of modern aircraft carriers, i very much doubt MC has blueprint knowledge about battleships
erm yeah I totally built this massive aircraft carrier in secret and never told anyone (or the reader) about it until we conveniently needed it
iirc it was foreshadowed in a throwaway line during the arc involving conversations with their friendly neighbourhood empire, that Souma had a plan b if the talks went to hell. It bothers me that I can't remember which chapter it was and the characters involved.I was just thinking that I must have forgotten the scene were this was foreshadowed. But I guess it was a retcon line, then, to say he launched the project back then.
I love how this manga’s more complex than other mangas and causing people to discuss about agriculture solutions and such. I mean I’m sure this manga has some things to complain about but a manga that’s at least trying to be all technical and thought out is amazing. I'm enjoying reading the comments hereI’m here lollin’ at the “research the research“ title and the rest of you are planning how to properly green a desert using magic
not used to being the dumb guy in a thread, it’s a nice change of pace
There are big advantages doing research when you know the concept is correct. And a few details, such as a Japanese civilian with a bit of education might have, can be a big boost. There are also advantages to knowing what ideas are not worth pursuing. Not wasting time on Token Ring, and going straight to Ethernet and Internet Protocol, for instance, can focus resources. A monarch can also force things in ways that a democratic government cannot.Oh i know full well that research take time it's just that in Isekai manga they usually introduce technology with no research and somehow everything ends up working magically.
I'll leave my favorite quote about research here : "There are two kinds of scientific progress: the methodical experimentation and categorization which gradually extend the boundaries of knowledge, and the revolutionary leap of genius which redefines and transcends those boundaries. Acknowledging our debt to the former, we yearn, nonetheless, for the latter."
