Pretty much. The slightly simplified version is basically, he rode her back while she was not bonded to someone. So basically her only choices are either bond with him or be stuck in a position where she can’t bond with anyone until he dies.

He does end up taking responsibility for it. So he gets two wives.

And here’s a funny bit. His own parents treat the wives better than him. They go out of their way to treat the girls nicely, while their actual son they deal with him like he’s an idiot, which he is at times.
