@Andiza

True, it's good, but the fact remains that he knowingly, willingly and without their knowledge put his own citizens at danger.
If it comes out, the majority would probably still support him, but the ones affected and others connected to him, maybe others living near their borders as well wouldn't think as well of him.

This just so funny seeing the manga adaptation explains the anti-air strike ballista again. It is already explained in several previous chap and yet it is again explained for what? In the nove, well, that will be necessary to make the series can reach 50k words per volume. Shoukoku no Altair's creator might do it better if he were the one who adapted this. I guess the drawer need to consider which words and sentence from LN except dialogues or direct sentences should be explained with illustration, description, or just skipped (no need explanation)

Thanks for the chapter!
Shouldn't Axela on page 5 NOT have wings since she's a daughter or granddaughter of Duke Wolcott who's a sea dragon without any dragonnewt lineage? Granted Carl and Carla look like Dragonnewts but that's because their father's traits were more dominant. In any case shouldn't have sent Carla to head the forces against the ship. The forces might get leniency for following orders and avoid execution by becoming slaves or prisoners, but her leading the attack just gives more cause for her execution for her own rebellion in addition to that of being a close family member of a rebelling noble which would get her executed as well as a deterant for others considering rebellion. Would be nice if she survives and becomes a future wife of MC, but considering how practical he is and able to take multiple views of issues along with public reaction it'll be a while before he'd consider it and meantime is going to punish her and her father severely for their rebellion even if tries to avoid execution.

Oh I understand. Clearly this is some Sun Tzu level shit.

When going in to war, it's important to 'cut ties' with the closest family members you have and send them away. Obviously no one will try to use their lives against you, or simply kill them out of malice, so no worries there. After all, they might be in danger if they stayed where your loyal troops could defend them. Clearly you should send them straight in to the arms of a duke that has, in front of your eyes, declared herself for your enemy's side. Because the commander of a medieval military force on the enemies side could have no incentive or malice to harm your loved ones in anyway.

And when it actually comes the fighting? Stay in your stationary castle with your incredibly mobile, hard to counter and perfect for hit and run air force and wait for a slow moving army. Don't harrass or test your slow moving enemy. It's the only logical move. Make sure to disband 90% of your loyal and expert soldiers too, because the 100 you left behind all secretly want to die as quickly and efficiently as possible.

OH! I nearly forgot. Anti air weaponry? yeah, your enemy probably won't use them against your air-only army. Dont expect them.

It's genius guys. Just absolute god damn genius.

I was originally hoping this was just a ploy to lure out enemies from the kingdom and exterminate them. Now they have loyal soldier dying left and right. For what? Lion man wants to do something big before he dies so he's going to take down the kingdom with him? Let's not forget the dragon guy is okay with the senile lion causing a rebellion for self satisfaction. Clearly knows he is making a terrible decision by only bringing 10% of his soldiers to die for absolutely nothing.

The intelligence brought so far in this manga is astoundingly poor. Clearly not thought out well. It wouldn't surprise me if the author later on goes on to say "it was just a plot twist because of reasons! lol!!"

How are these dukes even in power with how stupid they are especially that half dragon dude? George might be a hard head but that half dragon duke is plain without a head.
After meeting Souma knows what he's doing is wrong but still does it because going back on his initial words is somehow more hurtful to his pride than taking his soldiers and daughter possibly to a meaningless death and destruction.

if the two dukes dont get executed by the end of this, i would lose a little respect for Souma, but still will read it.

Yeah if this ends with them just burying the hatchet, I'm gonna be a little upset. I don't think both need to die, but George 100% does. There needs to be consequences, and everyone involved in this war should be prepared for them.

If you could ninja yourself into the castle, why not do it BEFORE you destroy a literally one of a kind military asset for a distraction?

Also this "wyverns don't fly overseas so battleships never carry AA armament" is the biggest plot cope since "wyverns don't just instantly decide every battle because we have magic AA homing missiles (which we never use for anything else)". If you can't handle writing an airforce, don't fucking write one in your setting to begin with.
