Goodness. This was violent.
No wonder Lapis (aka. Aurora) is so set on a violent outcome. She first lived as a slave, then after she ended up in an orphanage and was adopted by a kind family, said family was murdered in front of her eyes, hearing the dying cries for help of her mother, and finally holding her sister in her arms as she dies. All that committed by people who hated them for being nobles even though they only wanted to offer protection, and with the nobility involved in hiring them.
For a girl who already had dark and deprecating tendencies (ch. 30 p. 19) and whose sister told her "punishing every single bad person is a noble's duty", to then go through such a traumatic event ? I can imagine her seeing the whole world as her enemy.
