Goodness. This was violent.

No wonder Lapis (aka. Aurora) is so set on a violent outcome. She first lived as a slave, then after she ended up in an orphanage and was adopted by a kind family, said family was murdered in front of her eyes, hearing the dying cries for help of her mother, and finally holding her sister in her arms as she dies. All that committed by people who hated them for being nobles even though they only wanted to offer protection, and with the nobility involved in hiring them.

For a girl who already had dark and deprecating tendencies (ch. 30 p. 19) and whose sister told her "punishing every single bad person is a noble's duty", to then go through such a traumatic event ? I can imagine her seeing the whole world as her enemy.

My poor Aurora, how i feel for you 😭 😭 😭 and the fact that she had to carry this guilt since

(on a lighter note, I do wish they do a classic scene were Lapis(Aurora) lose control in anger and Natori is the one to calm her, but alas)

thanks for the TL!

First, let me thank crowfee for picking this up. I had almost given up on seeing this series catch up with the raws anytime soon.

I see a lot of people are confused, so let me clarify something: Lapis was the eldest daughter of the Tenebrae, and she was killed alongside her mother; for whatever reason, she pleaded with Aurora to take her place. It's up in the air whether she meant it literally or if Aurora misunderstood, but right now, the "Lapis" we've been following through the entire series is actually Aurora. So Aurora and her father decided to tell everyone that her mother and Aurora had died in the attack and Aurora took Lapis' identity.

Personally, I think this is a lazy twist, and while Nekotarou did put some hints in the past, the whole thing doesn't make a lick of sense because of the whole eye thing. With Aurora's eyes being so striking, and so different from Lapis ', I can't believe that no one noticed something odd as soon as Aurora showed up. A previous chapter having Natori say that she never advanced the story past the beginning of chapter 2 is also a lazy retcon, since Natori was supposed to have played the game all the time and know it like the back of her hand; thus, why she knew that Lapis was fated to die at Gran and Diana's hands.

the game was in early access, she isekaied before it fully released, poor soul
P.S. as for Natori's knowledge of Lapis' fate, it's cause someone leaked the ending.

from the dialogues, the noble didnt order to kill anyone. they were supposed to abduct them, but those commoners killed both in rage
you are giving too much grace to a noble who hired the first bunch he/her saw on the street and gave the order to make them hostage, bear in mind that is the only order these scums recall since no one batted an eye when the sociopath one was hitting the mother to death and slicing a child. please don't overlook the implications of leaving one woman and two girls at the mercy of blood thirst men who hate them. they are dead because of the noble who hired these criminal, something tells me he/her wasn't upset when, the following day, news reached everyone of a massacre committed by commoners against a noble family

31 chapters revealing different facets of the nobility and the common people, including Aurora herself, for a simple "kill them all" from a lot of people is complicated. even Aurora doesn't want that, as she is on the path to becoming Ozymandias

It's not that I want to give him grace (assuming the noble was the healer, he has beard,) but each one has their own sin. Of course, that noble, as the main culprit and ring leader, deserves death too. He could had healed both, the mother and daughter, but he didnt, so there is a tacit understanding.

I see this as a by-the-book false flag operation. The noble ringleader wanted the women kidnapped while hearing things like "kill all nobles" bullshit probably to make the Tenebrae family turn to the elitist faction because they wouldn't otherwise. The sudden regeneration strikes me as very odd, like something the mastermind had given the criminals to "even the odds" knowing the mother was a beast in magic. And a murder suits their purposes as much as a kidnapping.
Aurora probably knows this, and she "infiltrated" the elitist faction to root out the ringleader and/or destroy the faction altogether. She's not an elitist at heart, but she has to act like one to convince them. If you look closely, in one of these chapters she has profiles of what appear to be nobles.

I don’t think all the commoners are the problem here guys… I say purge these fckin corrupted nobles and their inhumane lap-dogs who’d do anything for money.

THANK YOU FOR THE TL!
