Thanks for the chapter, but seriously, this series gets far too less updated... 😭

Aw it's kind of sad a lot of subtleties got skipped because there are a lot of them and the novel is pretty packed. In the novel, Reiji dodge the orb question by answering "I don't have skill orb in me" because he technically have skill orb but he took them out for precaution. And he was a lot less composed inside, like he felt he accidentally just dodge a bullet.

I guess the manga works because he said "I don't have a single skill orb", which is true cause he have multiple of them. God, I highly recommend the novel.
Maybe the raws wording is different from how the translators interpret it?

This infuriate me.
It's so poorly done that it undermine the story.

"We search a young boy that can do magic and is good at swords but doesn't have an orb skill. He has black hair and he is a little less than this height"
"I know of a boy who match your description but he is a few centimeter higher, surely it's not him ! It's far more likely that two unique genius with near the same traits exist that the boy somehow grew or just that the description isn't perfect ! And so instead of voicing my suspicions I'll say nothing !"
They're both halflings, who seem to forget that humans grow quickly and are just plain lax with wording.

That's all that can really be said in their defense.
You guys DO remember that he changed his hair colour, right?

Not to mention, from a wandering child with nothing to a noble's aid is an unbelievable jump, so it'd be hard to even suggest him as a possibility.

Even with that, it far far far less likely to see a kid who can use magic and be very good at fighting, on part with skilled adults without using any orbs.
It's in the unbelievable level where people have to check with a specialist just to check if he lied about not using an orb.

Changing air colour is nothing in a world with magic.
And when you're such a gifted child, being noticed and recruited by someone isn't unbelievable at all.

MC dyes his hair so it's not black right now no one knows he (technically) doesn't have an orb but the Count and he just learned it the info states that the MC is shorter than Mimino and the cousin has no reason to doubt her. Ultimately he doesn't match the description based on the info the cousin has. All this said the MC far outstrips what he could do 4 years ago and Mimino wouldn't know that so there's no real way she could give accurate info. Also based on this chapter she clearly didn't know how fast humans grow especially after they hit puberty. Now do I think the cousin should have asked if he knew Mimino while they were at the tea party? Yes. But she didn't and it's frankly not her job.

The manga doesn't express it well. It isn't implying that he had anything to do with the assassination attempt. The manga skipped some conversation that happens in between, so it makes it seem like it.

He made a bunch of fake slave trader businesses for Eva to destroy, making it easy for her to do so, and hoping she would eventually realize they were set up by him. He wanted her to learn that it was important to think for herself.
