In the beginning of the manga, MC was helped and saved by an old man. The old man's dying wish was for MC to find his granddaughter and deliver his last words, if I recall. Or something like that. MC has been searching for a long time and keeping an eye out for her and trying to find her so he can keep his promise and deliver the old man's last words.
