Very true. But then this new girl would wind up being persona non grata in her homeland. And I'm sure the MC doesn't want that for her - he's a very compassionate person. While some people don't have a strong attachment to their home, that's not the case for me. I'd miss my home very much if I could never go back.

If it was Reiji alone, he wouldn't really be in that much danger if he was careful and decisive. He could flee easily enough. But, alas, he has got much more helpless friends there, and if he wants to actually save Lulusha, then he would need to get her out of the country as well. While he himself could use his thousand skills and spells to make himself scarce without the lizard and frogmen being able to do anything about it, most of it would be useless with the baggage larger than he is.
