Oh man this is a good one. I'm a big fan of how the protag isn't agog at all the fantasy stuff, but is still slightly a fish out of water. Like a different spin on familiar stuff.

I quite enjoy this.

It sounds he is the only human in this world am I right? Is it based on novel?

No idea about a novel existing or not, but I found 18 chapters of raw manga; yes, he is the only true human here, but there seem to be a fair amount of humanoids that look similar enough to one.

The story seems to simply be "rising salaryman gourmet tastes exotic foods while dragging along his maid", with a dash of politics or economics here or there.

I'm actually impressed with how they presented the food. Normally in this sort of manga they get the first dish and are "blown away by the tenderness and flavor" but the reality is if you were eating a large carnivorous lizard, not only would the meat be rather oily and tough, it would be bitter. It would take a long periods in a highly acidic marinade to even get it to a reasonably edible state. Of course if you are a demi-human carnivore this wouldn't be much of an issue. Dogs for example really enjoy extremely chewy meat, and big cats are often given big strips of jerky as a treat. A restaurant that reflects these tastes fits the world of fantasy so well, that it left me hoping sincerely for this series to not take a nose dive.

The artwork somehow gives me a similar feeling to Magi's mangaka artwork's. I'm not sure why though, maybe the inking?

I expected nothing going in but this turned out to be quite clever. A fresh look at fantasy world food and a female lead that is cute but not immediately all over the main. I'm looking forward to his misconceptions about Elf cuisine.

Further thinking, it's the finger right? That area's bound to get a lot of use. I imagine that the, rarity and novelty of eating dragon meat changes the price but for a human, especially a contemporary human's diet, a different part would probably be used. Now I don't know if there's something peculiar about dragon anatomy in this world, but I don't see why they couldn't get fillet or belly.
