Get notifications on new chap release

Is there a way to get a notification when an new chapter is realesed? or have i just completely missed it

You can check your Follows once in a while, I guess.

I'd rather not to have notifications for it tbh

one option is to use a rss reader, and add the feed for your follows.

I really like your rss reader idea but have you tried it.
If you did, can you tell me how to do it. Like what application should I use and how to set it up to my mangadex follows page.

i use firefox, and i added a rss reader extension to that browser. search for one that's convenient for you to use and install it. i have used Smart RSS before.
on your follows page https://mangadex.org/follows , you can locate the rss feed for your follows on the top right side of your follows. the rss icon.
add the feed url in your rss reader, and set up the reader to check periodically and notify you (with a lit-up icon probably) whenever there's an update to your follows.
