Lol, the sweet ramen broth having a big spoonful of sugar, salt and msg means the original recipe was probably made by Korean or Indonesian immigrants. That actually sounds like a good way for quick and easy "homemade" ramen broth...
EDIT: I realize now that it's actually probably Cantonese or more specifically Hong Kong cafe style in nature. It's very common for Hong Kong cafe style food to be loaded with seasonings as well as a healthy amount of sugar resulting in a very salty but sweet comfort food. I was eating my own leftovers and realized that I'm eating something that punches you in the face with its sweetness and then has a very salty but flavorful aftertaste
