Y'know . . . . I honestly wish he ends up with Yomiuri senpai. She seems . . . . Very genuine. But thats probably not gonna happen

Oh maaan, I'd like to see that senpai win. I love frank, mature and kinda mischevious characters like her. But the MC is so focused on his step-sis, he practically missed her reference to the movie along with the flirting, then simultaneously shot down her approach by talking about Ayase, thus, locked himself down to the main heroine route. Epic fail in my book :')

I am glad his trauma is shielding him off to the degree of a dense anime/manga male protag. Sorry but I really like his development with Ayase and this is not going to be some harem dogshite so I hope he keeps shielding like this till Ayase fixes his trauma.

And to think, MC was picking at Ayase in an earlier chapter for not being able to tell that the MC of that book liked the girl. My guy you’re literally just like Ayase

Lots of readers seem to be forgetting the MC has no intention to get a girlfriend. While he might not have a gynophobia, he has a personal philosophy of keeping women at an arm's length, due to his distrust. That's the major reason why he wants to keep his relationship with Ayase cordial and sibling-like. That's the whole initial setting of this story. With an attitude like that, he's not going to see any hints subtler than a fist sunk in his face.

He's a bookworm. Of course he would recognise the central ideas of a novel. It doesn't mean he would recognise anything in real life.
