I never imagine i could find someone named "iwak" in japanese media, that's the most traditional Indonesian Name i've ever Heard 🤣🤣
If you guys wandering, "iwak" is Javanese for "fish". Javanese is the language of the people of Java, on you guess it, Javanese island in Indonesia, the most populate island in Indonesia. Hence, make Javanese the most used language in Indonesia with the most speaker, even more than the official language itself, wich is Bahasa Indonesia.
Iwak is one of the local language that frequently used, and has more than one meaning. The literal meaning is "fish", however it also means "side dish" cause fish is one of the most common side dish in Indonesian household, especially in the countryside area where the language is frequently used.
That being said, iwak is not a common name for Indonesian or Javanese in that matters. Nobody here is stupid enough to named their child a fish, mostly Arabic or traditional Indonesian Name is use. So to such a coincidence to happen, in the manga nontheless is really funny to me 🤣
