For the best. It quickly devolved into the usual tropes after a promising start.

This reminds me a lot of early One Piece, art style, funky characters, and fun designs. Problem is it escalated like crazy so fast.

He's supposed to be a master craftsman but he spends most of the manga just hitting opponents with a pipe wrench. I wish he had no fighting ability at all.

He could have some. But not to the extent he has shown. He should have just stayed a god tier crafter and leave almost all of the fighting to everyone else.
