And in all honesty, the manga didn't really catch me to begin with. As soon as I saw the name I went "ah shit, here we go again". So when this chapter dropped my reaction was basically "und täglich grüsst das Murmeltier" a german way to call someone a one trick pony. Because that's probably all she'll ever be. No originality, only the same plot regurgitated over and over and over again.

I genuinely think if she said nothing this would've passed over by ch 130 as no one would care a week later. This gotta be one of the worst handling of drama I've seen, why's she so defensive on this chapter man😭
I don't think I've seen anything ntr even get this hated before. Even with big works like jinki/winvurga, guilty circle, eros survival, zingz, etc the situation usually dies off after a few days or so. Her handling of this might actually ruin her career.
The solution to drama isn't to then deny the drama entirely and suggest everyone else is wrong while you're right. Even if you believe that your right, attacking an already upset crowd is a terrible PR move.

This might make them just axe grapara so the publishers don't suffer blowback like with destiny lovers or secret classroom.

Nah I don't she will do much heavy lifting to keep readers. Sunk cost fallacy is in effect here. People who have invested their time for over 100 chapters won't drop it so easily. But this is something that will stay with her for the rest of her writing career and will affect how her future works is received.

Even worse for the Japanese fans since they pay for volumes and chapters. After 129 chapters a lot are long time buyers and are invested in the work. Giving essentially a tongue in cheek middle finger to those fans that paid to read your work or acting like their only gaijins after they read for 100+ chapters is just insane. I just can't see where she thought this was a good response

Her talking negatively about the high seas is funny most would have know idea about this work outside of Japan and cost her nothing nor dose it cost the company you can't lose money that in a market you never engaged in. The made bootleg version of Disney land in 61 in japan in 89 they made a sanctioned Disney land by 06 the bootleg one was out of business piracy is largely a service problem. In anime and manga's case it's an access issue as well there are anime's I want to buy but no longer exist.

Yea I'm hoping the illustrator leaves unscathed. His shading and detailed body art is really unique and he's relatively new. Hope he isn't blacklisted by publishers or anything like Aira might get lol.
This is why mangakas need editors, like with maken ki and his obsession with trying to permanently ntr aki sensei but it kept being toned down

I don't really think so if I had one good thing to say about this chapter even if I hate it it's that the last panel is shocking especially when you contrast it when she did it with the male lead she all most seems dead inside but of course that could be because the artist is good and the author had no intention of leaving that impression. But the shock value was in fact shocking it's just all the emotional investment the readers put into the male and female leads relationship rooting for their relationship to succeed against the odds that was the ntr part has been spent on it. Building that up with fumi would take a lot of time to much infact which is why I don't think this was well thought out. I think the demand for fumi to become the main love interest to the male lead is just a knee jerk reaction which is why I think this work will end up hemorrhaging readers that were in it for the romance.

I don't really take this type of manga serious, so it's whatever, but i think their only way out is to push Fumi. Unless the plan was to end this manga soon anyway.

Both of those mangas are far more popular than this one and in the case of guilty circle they lost just under half of their sale from before garpara sell a fraction of guilty circle currently reader engagement is also on average higher than GraPara has two chapters that break over a thousand comments out of guilty circle's last 5 , 4 chapters have just over a thousand comments. But I don't think this will get axed before it finishes can't be that far from the end this only goes ultimately 3 ways.

They didn't cancel Destiny Lovers, they didn't cancel Guilty Circle... What makes you think they'll cancel Grapara??? All these works mentioned above belong to the same publisher, Pocket Magazine. Which is a shame, because that publisher promotes this type of manga.

Destiny lovers part 1 was pretty dubious. It ended suddenly right in the middle of an arc and had to become a sequel with a separate mc in the end. It's unclear if it was an axe or sales got that bad from the drama, or just a bad author; especially when in part 2 it essentially ret conned the old mcs ntr.

Well, Tomohiro Kai was quite foolish and did the same with Destin Lovers Part 2.

I haven't been keeping up as much since like chapter 50 of DL pt 2. I heard the new f/mc do pretend ntr with someone to win a challenge or something but it never went all the way right?
