That's certainly one side of the coin, on the other side though they've created such a seemingly insurmountable challange for MC's to overcome that it could make the direction for the story more interesting to tell, giving the author a second wind outside of rinse/repeating the same bait cycle. Think of it this way, Airi can now write better with post 129 clarity.

I watched stay in the top 10 for its genre on the official site. I think it still has a lot of steam and more interest now that the live action is streaming.

Some Japanese fans don't believe Shinobu will end up with Fumi. They think Nagi might trigger that Sakura has been under a misunderstanding, but it is Fumi who will reveal the truth about that day. IMHO, to complicate matters, there might be an attempt at reconciliation but then Fumi is pregnant!

If Sakura were to make a move herself, the only way I can imagine it would be through Fumi, who is currently closest to Shinobu, persuading her. Fumi is the only one who knows all about the things that would deeply hurt Sakura's mental state: that she was the one who initiated the kiss, not Shinobu; that Shinobu searched for Sakura all night; and that he prioritized Sakura's path to becoming an actress over his own feelings of love, leading to their breakup. If they were to get together like this, the story would probably jump ahead several years lol. And if we prioritize making the story exciting, I don't think Shinobu and Fumi will end up together.

Nakanishi's wish during his hundred-day pilgrimage was, "Sakura's happiness is what matters; whether I can be with her or not doesn't matter." He's determined that he's the only one who can make Sakura happy, but being inexperienced in romance, Nakanishi only knows how to love Sakura through physical intimacy. On the other hand, Shinobu has loved Sakura in other ways, and their histories with Sakura are fundamentally different. He's probably aware that Sakura still has the necklace Shinobu gave her, and he probably hasn't received an answer to his confession yet. Since that incident, Sakura's feelings haven't been depicted. The phrase "I can't meet you" probably means "I can't face you," so I think her feelings for Shinobu will be revealed in the future. What worries me more is Shinobu's future actions. I have a feeling he's going to pull off a stupid move just like Sakura...

If Fumi, unable to bear watching Shinobu's lingering feelings for Sakura grow stronger day by day and her descent into darkness occurs, were to beg Sakura to "please meet him," then Sakura would probably be willing to meet him, but the hurdles to get there are just too high.

Agree. Many Japanese fans have no desire to see Sakura and fucboi again. When Sakura simply appeared in chapter 132, many calling her presence nauseating. And she would have been absolutely savaged if Nagi hadn't shown up.

If Grapara shows a bed scene between Sakura and fucboi, it would be tantamount to Airi Katsura committing suicide.

Some of the missing details do make it a free plot device for author to backtrack and spin it however they want to. Everyone's been bouncing back and forth between the mystery potential and then realizing its Katsura Airi so they don't want to be too optimistic, maybe just ever slightly hopeful.

Just as most fans think Sakura is dead, given her behavior, we want Shinobu to be happy with Fumi, and why not, we want to see Sakura's downfall and her regret. What will happen is surely nothing like what most of us expect. Is that an achievement of the author? Is she just so good at creating improbable stories? If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that Sakura keeps appearing in the chapters because at some point she'll confront Shinobu. There will surely be a thousand excuses: that her dream clashed with Shinobu's, that she overheard her saying this or that, that if they each followed their own dreams they were going to end up separating anyway, etc., etc. The truth is, logically, each wanted to fulfill their dreams, and each expected the other's support and, above all, to be there in the bad times to support and give strength to the other. Sakura began to validate her dreams, and her erotic night helped her break with the past and embark on a new adventure, convinced it would improve her situation. Shinobu, for her part, had to accept the new reality. Seeing Sakura give herself to another man, Shinobu knew it was a decision with no turning back. What awaits us? Even knowing I've been wrong before, I believe that one way or another, Shinobu and Sakura will eventually meet again. They'll both think that if they had stayed together, they would have reached the same place without suffering, and they'll surely feel unhappy for not having been able to fix things instead of drifting apart.
