the editor are writing the story from the point of view that shinobu can't understand sakura so he will suffer because of that if the old interview still holds. Of course that just makes the story convoluted and forced.

That's the thing. They would've asked her if she's seeing anyone, and she would've answer. It was a choice of the mangaka not to show it for fake drama. I'm of the opinion that if you decide to omit an obvious part of a conversation for tension, you're a lazy writer. Like scenes when someone asks a question and the author inserts a loud "noise" so the readers don't know what the answer was. If the author doesn't want a piece of information to be revealed, do not write scenes where that information would be naturally disclosed by the Reader's PoV that has been used so far.

Yea, what Sakura did was bad. REALLY bad. But it's not as simple as "Oh she cheated! She cheated! Slut slut slut slut slut slut slut!!!!". Having a deeper dive is part of the fun.

It's more than just seeing what we see at face value. Shinobu is the MAIN main character. Naturally he gets the focus! So we see things from his perspective. Sakura is the MAIN female character so naturally we also see things and talk about stuff from HER perspective.

Mio is a whore And is basically proud of it.
Nagi now seems to be the same but this could be limited to just movies.

Sakura is making choices most of us don't approve of but naturally assume is a part of her downfall. She's doing things on her own because now Shinobu isn't around to guide her. She's easily lead. She's easily seduced.

But it's not as simple as her embracing her "whore phase" as you put it. We just see things from a deeper perspective as opposed to the surface value.
