Add that with how well fumi and fuckboi fit Sakura and shinobu it seems suspect as in to good to be true BUT could just be poorly thought out writing.
My point was Arir is using mirrored characters and parallels between shinobu and Sakura with where they are in life now. For instance both of the times we have been shown for certain they are having sex with someone else it's with no duologue. When you compare that to when they had sex it's far different. Sakura and shinobu are different sexually but do in fact compliment one another and give one another something that they didn't get with there current partners sakura being the most obvious in that there was no love there. While with fumi it's much harder to say what's missing I know something is I just can't put my finger on it and it's frustrating me. It may be with shinobu really he didn't seem to give the same love he gave sakura fumi seems to have given all the passion. That might be it.
Your theory is interesting !

Are you saying we're being lured in? Trying to make us believe that both Sakura and Shinobu will end up with better partners but then leaving hints that ... if they really would end up with better people, why were their intimate scenes so different from chapter 102? (lack of something)

Your assumption is that Airi Katsura (sensei) is not completely shallow and is setting a trap, making people believe both sides will end up with better partners but then twisting the perfection by saying they got back together because love is more important than being with a better person and Sakura still chooses Shinobu even without knowing the truth about the misunderstanding.

Am I correct about your suspicion, detective @box2024 ? LOL

@Alsatia @diphuc1 @whorainzone @jonasadan will you buy this idea?

Hmm my neurons don't have enough connections to think that deep. My absolute gut feeling is that the manga doesn't end as it is right now with ShiFumi going full steam ahead, there will be a few more twists and turns. Sakura didn't choose Shinobu, she ran away from him over a building misunderstanding of her creation. I'll buy into any idea that supports ShiKura ultimately, and I don't believe the love between them is completely gone, but having curveballs like the timeskip and now ShiFumi make it more complicated. I'm a broken record now with this but we can't say much more until 134. Even if KA is a "twisted" author, I just don't see her letting the manga end with the cosmic levels of hatred towards the Sakura right now, and it's exciting in a weird way where no one sees the road to redemption, so if KA can pull something off without leveraging too much of their creative freedom bs plot convenience stuff like they did for 128>129, it will be amazing. Right now GraPara! is just a bad story that no one's ever told before, ego aside even KA can see this.

After they sleep together, Shinobu does not immediately leave, nor do they awkwardly distance themselves from each other. He stays at Fumi’s home and continues writing his script, while Fumi rests peacefully beside him.

This quiet scene carries several meanings.
I believe this scene represents more than just Shinobu and Fumi officially becoming a couple. It is showing that *Fumi has entered the most private and essential part of Shinobu’s life and creative world. *

First, Fumi has become part of Shinobu’s everyday life.

Sex is only the clearest sign that their relationship has changed. What matters more is what happens afterward.

One person works while the other sleeps nearby. This is no longer a scene driven by passion, but something close to domestic life. Fumi does not need to constantly entertain or please Shinobu, and Shinobu does not feel neglected simply because she has fallen asleep. They can naturally share the same space.

Their relationship is moving from mutual support, to romance and physical intimacy, and then toward something resembling a life partnership.

Second, Shinobu does not stop creating after becoming intimate with Fumi.

He continues writing the script, which suggests that Fumi’s love does not make him lose himself or abandon his goals. Instead, her presence gives him a safe and peaceful environment in which he can continue creating.

In his relationship with Sakura, Shinobu was constantly giving, filming for her, helping her career, and dealing with her problems. Much of his life revolved around supporting Sakura. With Fumi, however, he can remain beside her while still focusing on his own work.

Fumi is not someone who requires Shinobu to sacrifice himself in order to take care of her. She is someone who allows Shinobu to continue being himself.

Third, Fumi feels completely safe beside Shinobu.

The fact that she can sleep peacefully after they have confirmed their physical relationship suggests that she no longer fears that Shinobu will suddenly leave. She does not need to keep checking whether he truly loves her.

Fumi has long understood that Shinobu and Sakura share a deep history. For her to fall asleep beside him now symbolizes that she finally believes:

And Shinobu truly does remain there.

Fourth, the scene may be written as a direct contrast to Sakura and Nakanishi’s relationship.

Sakura and Nakanishi’s relationship is mainly connected to lust, escape, confusion, and self-destruction. Even though they have a physical relationship, it does not naturally create emotional stability or a peaceful shared life.

Shinobu and Fumi are presented in the opposite way. After sex, there is no emptiness, guilt, or emotional distance. Instead, there is creativity, sleep, and quiet companionship.

That may be emphasizing that Nakanishi gained access to Sakura’s body, but never truly understood her. Fumi, on the other hand, has not only given herself physically to Shinobu; she has also entered his dreams, his daily life, and his creative world.

Their intimacy is the result of a relationship that has gradually developed. It is not a tool for escaping from emotional problems.

Fifth, Fumi may now be both the source of Shinobu’s inspiration and the first person who shares his creative process.

The fact that Shinobu writes beside her may symbolize that the story he is creating is no longer only about processing his past with Sakura. He is now reinterpreting that past while being supported by Fumi.

Sakura may still remain an important model or source of inspiration within the script, but the person who stays beside Shinobu while he writes it is now Fumi.

That is especially cruel from Sakura’s perspective:

She may still exist inside Shinobu’s work, but she no longer exists in his present life.

Overall, this scene feels like that is formally declaring that Fumi is no longer merely a substitute who helped Shinobu recover from his wounds. She is the partner Shinobu has chosen in the present.

The truly decisive image is not the sex itself, but the peaceful moment afterward. Shinobu is writing his future, while Fumi sleeps safely beside him. They do not consume or damage each other, and they do not need dramatic promises to prove their relationship. Their quiet closeness already resembles the life of a married couple.

From a narrative perspective, this makes Shinobu and Fumi’s relationship extremely difficult to reverse. Even if Shinobu later speaks honestly with Sakura, understands her pain, or forgives her, that would more likely serve as closure for the past rather than a restoration of their romantic relationship.

Sakura is the past Shinobu still needs to finish writing.

Fumi is the person who remains beside him while he continues writing the rest of his life.
Thank you so much. Your comment is very impressive.

IMHO, Shinobu has a sense of responsibility. Especially he knows he's her first man, he is definitely not the type of person to have sex with her and then just walk away. He's interested in her for a long time but it's not love, it's like (Shinobu also reminded himself Sakura when he first met Fumi. So, for him, Sakura always number one.). However, this feeling can develop thru time.

Fumi can replace Sakura if Sakura becomes the fucboy's girlfriend or has someone new. But if Sakura keeps being single, I don't think it's a good situation for Fumi. Because Fumi is a good girl, sooner or later she will certainly push Shinobu to go back to Sakura as she truly loves him and knows he cannot forget her.

For Fumi, love means sacrifice. She is willing to sacrifice herself for the happiness of the person she loves even if it means enduring pain, just as she sacrificed herself to gain the additional 5 million in investment fraud to help Shinobu's movie.

IMHO, if Sakura is single, the story will go to the "Love Triangle Arc". And it may be the final arc of Grapara.

My assumption was influenced by the detective @box2024 's suspicion that Airi Katsura (sensei) is not completely air-headed but is setting up a trap of "ending up with perfect partners" to be twisted later.

Fumi is an absolutely perfect partner for Shinobu, not just in terms of personality and appearance but she also graduated from a vocational school specializing in film !

Emm, Fumi is exactly the ideal partner for Shinobu. This follows the same pattern as the fucboy character who is the perfect match for Sakura...

Too good to be true partners came at the same time in order to separate Sakura and Shinobu.

What is the real intention of the author? It's a trap for readers or it's just a bad writing, we'll see.

Well, in her recent interview about karamizakari she said that, interestingly, she did not originally write the story with the "NTR" or "BSS" (I liked her first) genres in mind. She simply wanted to draw her specific fetish, that is, the painful experience of being unable to confess to a crush, only to watch them be intimate with someone else. The NTR tags were added later by readers, though airi eventually leaned into reader expectations for later spinoffs. :pepehmm:

Well if I had to bet I would bet that Sakura ends up with fuckboi is living with and still have sex with him as for shionbu him and fumi work well together have chemistry together she wants him and is loyal to him so I would bet on her. BUT there is indeed a dark horse in the race Arir has left things open with shionbu and sakura and is doing so on purpose question is is she leaving that door open JUST to continue the story or is it to bring sakura and shinobu back together. I expect chapter 135 to parallel or mirror shinobu's as in we will see fuckboi is sakura's support like fumi s for shionbu.

Of course if this doesn't happen we can say she is building tension in the story with what we don't know right now she has always done things with the ntr baits they have worked best with Sakura so she is the one I expect this kind of storytelling to be used with. It's an is or isn't she fully fallen bait.

Well now that's interesting because both shinobu and Sakura have confessed to one another but if she is using the same theme in grapara then that may be why neither shinobu nor sakura has accepted the confession of fumi or fuckboi they can't YET because they still feel for the other.

I figured it out what was off about the sex scene with shinobu and fumi ITS THE KISS like fuckboi and Sakura fumi kissed shinobu shinobu didn't kiss fumi! The two scenes absolutely mirror one another there are big differences yes one was taken while the other is mutual but this will be important I think! I just don't know how. The kiss in 132 is mutual but initiated by fumi same as 128 just without the passion.

The most acceptable ending for this title would be a harem ending with shinobu taking both fumi and sakura.

How i'd love to see how shinobu is willing to forgive sakura if she would watch him and fumi making love in the love hotel.

Yep, sex scene with Fumi failed to capture that main heroine energy, I'm afraid.

Ok guys we missed something that I think is a pretty big development in this chapter with sakura's talk with nagi and mio some of us thought she was reminiscing about shinobu some of us thought she was depressed about what happened BUT we are all wrong if you noticed what is being shown in that flash back it's shinobu supporting Sakura well that isn't all he is doing him is there with her she isn't alone up to the point she meets him her world is in fact a lonely one she is alone. In that scenario they used for the thumbnail was really important because there sakura is alone even with nagi and mio trying to cheer her up she is lonely without shinobu I think we were shown she does in fact miss shionbu it's just that the scene didn't go down the way we thought it was and were disappointed in that so we missed it.

Also the guy who explained the dynamic between fumi and shinobu he is mostly right but we don't know yet if fumi has taken sakura's place with shionbu just yet we know nothing of what his movie contains. Now he was right about shinobu's world being centered on Sakura but he doesn't point out that sakura's world is also centered on shinobu everything she dose is an attempt to get closer with him. Of course someone will point out she cheated on him and has from our point of view and shinobu's she did but what sent her over the edge was the idea of shinobu abounding her if that didn't happen they would still be together it also shows that Sakura is more emotionally fragile than shinobu.

Well damn that sucks I think there is a high probability we see Sakura with fuckboi next chapter she needs someone both to talk to and fill that void of loneliness she feels I doubt it will be a long scene but it will be enough to anger readers a great deal.😐

after reading the comments here I just want to say there is so much over analysis and mental gymnastics like I'd easily bet that most of you are putting more effort into these comments than Katsura Airi
It's not mental gymnastics nor an over analysis I just noticed a pattern in Arir's writing.

OK but like three comments up your are saying the sex scene is off because Fumi initiated the kiss for Shinobu, like from my eyes that's prime over analyzing but that's just me
I agree that the analysis of the kisses is an overanalysis; it doesn't mean anything at all. I noticed that before, Sakura's world revolved around Shinobu, but ever since she met Kyoka's group and that playboy, her world no longer revolves around him. She has been completely influenced by that crowd.

No because there is a reason why all four didnt talked to each other.
One was "raped" the other couple seen each other in like months for the first time again.
Makes sense, thinking the dialogue is a parallel or mirrored perspective is just overthinking. The result after shinobu and fumi is what matters and both look pretty happy and someone already explained in his pov how he sees that and i agree with him. Obviously slutkura can come back which she probably will but its bad writing. It doesnt even matter how you resolve this. And if you go with slutkura fucking fuckboi on daily basis than honestly i dont see why she should be together with shinobu. I know that shinobu probably cracked fumi once and thats it. They are even now, airi can go with the "look both slept with different person now they can go back together" but that would be trash either if she does it simply like that or IF we see slutkura being with fuckboi. Overall @box2024 is overthinking/overanalyzing everything and is blinded by his fan glasses.

As for the one in 132, I think they both take the initiative, they both want it, unlike in the Sakuraxfuckboi situation, where the fuckboi is the one who starts everything

It's honestly part of the fun.
Think gambling on if the manga tracks with our theories or fucks us over like the potential with Nari and her impact lol

Im not over analyzing im pointing out the contrast and mirror between sakura's scene with fuckboi and shinobu's scene with fumi neither of them initiated the kiss when you compare it to Sakura and shinobu's scene you can see the difference when they have sex with someone they are in love with.
