Ain't no way some of you have this belief that because someone draws controversial or problematic stuff, they have to be ugly or unkempt, right? RIGHT?

Because this is literally one of the oldest stereotypes used in Japan to discredit anime/manga: "Only ugly people make or interact with this kind of material."

That said, one of the perks of going to Comiket, is that you quickly realize Japanese artists come in all shapes and forms, including some incredibly hot people, and by this I mean both men and women. Big cheers to all the otokonoko artists who happen to be hot twinks who crossplay as the characters they draw. They're a feast for the eyes, especially if they also hire a booth model alongside them.

Of course, that includes people you would consider "unkempt," yes, but it's also quite normal to find female artists who draw stuff like BDSM, NTR, Lolicon etc (like Dancyo, who abuses her Lolis hard) who are very pretty, or artists who are arguably hotter than the characters they draw (like Yumeki Banana, another big name in the NTR scene, or Poriuetan, tho I don't think she's been to Comiket in a while).

As for Katsura Airi, I'm going to C108 next weekend, but going to her event didn't even cross my mind because my early-entry ticket is too valuable to waste time on it, and I don't even know if there are any requirements (or if she's even going in the first place), but I might now, just in case someone makes a scene over Grapara, so I can witness it from the front row lmao.
I will also be at c108 but same as above there was zero chace I was wasting time to visit KAs booth, especially since I lost the early entry raffle for both days for the first time since the started doing it.
Some doujinshi creators hire proxies to appear in their place or cancel their attendance altogether due to safety concerns.

I wonder if Airi Katsura (sensei) will be brave enough to attend in person or at least not cancel, following the Grapara incident.

Personally, I’m not bothered by the issue of physical beauty, given the prevalence of plastic surgery these days.

What strikes me as odd is covering the nose rather than the eyes.

The eyes are what reveal one's identity and can betray signs of mental instability unless the person has been trained well like a secret agent.

Please have a great time at Comiket on behalf of those of us who couldn't make it. LOL

I think the damage is already done; sales for Volume 13 are very, very low. I don't even want to imagine what sales will be like for Volume 14, which features the NTR scene. A lot of the readers who were following the manga have already given up on it, and the few who remain are only continuing to read it to find out how it ends. In my opinion, they’d be really stupid if they don’t take steps within these next 10 days to mitigate the damage in the final chapter—the sales failure of Volume 13 is already a given. I’m sure Chapter 136 has already been written and illustrated by the artist, ready for publication. I HOPE THEY REVIEW IT THOROUGHLY OVER THE NEXT 10 DAYS.
Perhaps Airi-sensei isn’t bothered about sales and just wants to tell ‘her story’, but if sales are low, doesn’t that also hurt the artist?
I don’t think Nishikida-sensei would be happy about that.

They're a fan of Airi-sensei, maybe even a super fan so I think in the end it's fine.

Ending still has maybe a < 5% chance for a positive turnaround for the story but that might not bump the sales enough we'll see. Low digital sales hurts KA + Artist, low physical scales will hurt the publisher more is what I believe I've learned from people here.

I have already accepted that their relationship is doomed I’m just waiting for the chapter so I can close this book.
I'm gonna miss your reasonable negativity, I'll hang onto some positivity for you, I really do think ShiFumi can recover, I just can't put it into words very well, and the delulu ShiKura voices in my head tell me this is a setup for ShiKura to meet, meaning I'm setting myself up for an even bigger disappointment potentially here.

Announcment can happen whenever imo, unless there's some rules about it. I keep the same stance, if it covers the same cast unlike how Destiny Lovers 2 handled it I'd be interested enough to keep following.

There are only two series that are able to bring out the pessimist in me
