This manga is genuinely good up to around ch.13, decent till around ch.16, and then a silly version of Monster Hunter: Sex & Stones edition.

There is still enjoyment to be found in the chapters, but I honestly wonder what it could have become if it didn't turn into the weird meta-joke that it is now.

I assume what happened here is that the chapters weren't performing well in the monthly rankings or the volumes weren't selling enough so the editor intervened and suggested ways to make it more lighthearted, sexual, and fast-paced. Now it's less of the Cro-Magnon Berserk we thought it was going to be and more of a gag manga. All we can do is try to recover from the whiplash and have some laughs as Akuu plows through more monsters, women, and timeskips.
