Slightly unrelated but I must say: the concept of the saintess always being engaged to the crown prince is still sorta novel to me no matter how many of these I read, since, growing up Catholic, chastity is pretty important in being ordained a saintess

That's what I was wondering. From what I've seen, the saintess seems hesitant to break them up. There was talk about a church being involved in one of the previous chapters, so I wonder if that's involved.

If I weren't more aware of how sloppily manga tend to use English I would think that the fact that Rachel's signature appears to read as "Rathel" would be relevant to the plot and a potential way for her to get out of this mess (since it wouldn't be her real signature)

But I know in my head that its probably just a mistake by a mangaka that's not comfortable writing English, especially in a more cursive/scripty fashion.

More than anything else, she seems incredibly desperate to achieve "something", almost like her life depends on it (see the spirit summoning ceremony chapter). We don't know what that "something" is, exactly, but it does seem like Anna Carol feels guilty about it wrt Rachel

#3 i don't want to live where incompetent saintess as mother of the nation so me and Rachel will move to another country. Good luck governing this country.

#4 if you can force your child to staying and Rachel to accept or be considered as rebel if she denied, why don't use the same excuse to the saintess?

Not a spoiler, I just think a dead Saintess would be the perfect excuse to unify the two countries. Just park her corpse across the border and make it look like a failed kidnapping.
