Pretty sure that quadruple amputating her and placing her in a breeding den of tentacle monsters, where they break her mind with brainwashing and she’s left to bear the babies of monsters and tentacles, would be a more fitting punishment

Spoiler: Reason the stone shined

Its like in the legends where heroes who bath in dragons blood obtain magic power. In the Novel the bitch stepsister have too much of MCs blood on her, so some faint power traces get to her. She is by far no saintess at all.

That makes sense then. I was nearly forced to drop this if the author didn't give us a compelling reason.
