you NEED short nails to play string instruments dawg. it perhaps could be considered optional for very casual beginners only. i guess maybe that's what Yazawa is? lol

regardless, i'd hope for a little more care and detail from the manga with the very memorable scene of the gyaru fashion girls bravely trimming their nails (albeit for other reasons) 🙁
