I'm satisfied with this arc for Aoyama, but I still hope we see her again down the line. Also I do like that they made Yurika irredeemable, but I still need to see her removed from this school.

This arc was an entirely new level. The manga was never exactly shy in using the subtle unsaid to tell its story, but it's never gone both as boldly forward and as quietly subtextual as this arc. I have no idea how Igarashi-sensei managed to do both in one go.

Also a beautiful way to show someone learning that they've been abused all this time which caused them to be an abuser as well. Her decision to fully deride Yurika and everything she thought was beautiful about the memories with her was amazingly executed.

And regarding the final page—your translation was beautifully done. I wouldn't have been able to come up with that after seeing the original lines. Great work on the TLs, seriously!

yep. i see it all now.

yes, both the artwork and story got into an insane level and maturity. i love every bit of it even those harsh truths.

i knew given how serious it all got, that there something personal to it. honestly its always a good thing to choose what strong morals you have despite the possible consequences, as it brings out beauty in every inch of your work.

this was defn a better story than having made against ones will. it would have reflected one way or another too, and might result to a halfhearted story with no soul.

also, i cant help but comment out how perfectly she depicted a victim choosing to move forward.

aoyama had to face herself, the victim, and choose herself, a new person she doesnt know yet.

aoyama saw her victim self, her flaws, and whatever wounds she got from the abuse.

out of self respect, gave it a burial. and didnt look back.

it hurst so much. if theres ever a possibility in the future where she reminisces this moment, it will never bring nostalgia, only heartache.

This "arc", if we want to call it that, was a masterclass and I am ordering the physical copy from cdjapan right as I am typing this. I was unsure to buy this manga because it's way too hard for me to translate at my current level. But this author deserves my money and yours too.
