I actually think "this is hell" is apt.
For Yurika, being caught could arguably lead to a worse fate, but in this way she's forever looking over her shoulder, caught in the paranoia of wondering when she'll ever be found out. That uncertainty would haunt her constantly, leading to a degree of sustained stress that being discovered wouldn't impart. A literal jail cell is one thing, but she'd at least have something concrete and realized about her life and situation. This is limbo, and she's required to keep up appearances the whole time she's half-expecting the other shoe to drop.
But I also think her tale can conclude there. She's a teacher, but her life is now built around the constant reminder of her past and the looming specter of it all being revealed. She's clearly not willing to repent or make right her wrongs, because otherwise she'd not be so afraid of being discovered. If she has no intention of moving herself forward, then there's no more story for her to impart.
Perhaps Aoyama will continue to enter the narrative from time to time; Sumi-chan has extended a ray of light and hope to her, giving her a handhold toward freedom from the chains that were holding her down. It's not guaranteed, but there is a future there if she starts working toward it, and I think cameos of Aoyama from time to time would be neat, if only seen in the background...and honestly, a shot of her in the hallway behind our protagonists, walking hand-in-hand with another girl, would be a very sweet moment of "oh, she might be okay". A fleeting reminder of the world moving around our Main Duo (and Side Duos), and that it can move in good ways, too.
Super excited about our Yuri Progenitor Librarian, though. I dunno how much focus will fall upon her, but it seems like it would make for a super interesting story, given the timeline differences (and time period differences) that could come into play to serve as contrasts to what the Main Duo are experiencing in the present.
Thanks for all you do on the TL front, as always.
