The problem is that we know Shirota has realized his feelings for Takamine and plans to confess. The timing is off based on relationship progrsssion so Shirota has to reject the new challenger.

Off course the new girl might be making a play to hurt Takamine for some reason or have other ulterior motives.

well i dont think that shirota will accept her because he is pretty loyal to takane and it doesnt make any sense to accept her. shirota isnt even too much familiar with her and there is a possible sus on her that she have malicious intent that might be true. Proposing to shirota shouldnt make any sense because he didnt stand out too much in front of her neither back connection nor any reason. she might be proposing her just to make takane feel inferior or just to get closer to takane
