So...it's just me reading the series normally? Not like I'm think it's a masterpiece or anything but I don't think this is even that entertaining to hate read tbh, or feel 'sunk cost', tho tbf hate reading for me is alien because I can only feel hate to something that I thought was good otherwise I just drop it and this really doesn't seem the case for most people.

Not saying that you can't criticize but it's kinda wild for me that people read something that show things they don't like, see no signs of progress and still continue reading hoping for the impossible or just feel annoyed.
I think many people take this way too seriously, so I agree there. It's meant to be a comedy and is not trying to be realistic. I regularly see lengthy comments discussing the morality of Takamine and Shirota's relationship in frustration, and I have to sit back a bit. It's 60 chapters in. Personally, I have fun with it.

I've learned to not take things too seriously in general, but there's a weird facet of human psychology wherein engaging with something that "negatively rewards you" is somewhat addicting. Think doomscrolling on Reddit or Xitter, or getting into flame wars back in the Forums of the Old Internet, or participating in shitposting and ragebaiting simply to rile people up with reactionary takes to watch the drama unfold.

It's just some weird bit of our brain chemistry on the species-wide level wherein, in some manner, people get weird rewarding neurochemical results from being mad about something and then choosing to continue to interact with it.

But doing it too much, in my view, can warp one's entire outlook on stuff in general, and so it's best to try and refrain from actively seeking stuff out that pisses a person off to prevent that negative mindset from setting in.
But, it's still something I know I am prone to doing on occasion - so I choose low-stakes titles like this one as a "pressure valve" to get irrationally upset over and then vent about, so that I get that out of my system and can go back to being more well-adjusted elsewhere with more important things.

On some level I do enjoy this series, but it's just the one I've personally chosen to get Big Mad over because of how dumb it all is at its base, and to mald online where others might join in in ways that aren't going to seriously hurt anyone (or at least I hope).

sometimes, people just want to see how something they started ends, it probably is still decent enough to go through with it even if it is annoying, there's a breaking point for everything, just that for most this manga hasn't reached it yet i guess. Now about the chapter itself
that match is too unfair in the first place and we could see why, hindering him whenever she could and the privilege of being a girl

This new girl is complete trash, she added nothing positive to the plot.

And obviously all of this is bait and Takamine will undo everything, but I thought we already did that a long time ago. So, only decline..

Why do I still put myself through reading this? :fml:

The MC lost the tiny 0.5% confidence he had, and at this point the story is just about how dumb the MC is and how sadistic the FMC is.

I think if MC had a self respect it would cause the manga to end at ch. 1
Yeah to read this at all you have to accept MC is a willing doormat, similar to the girlfriend stolen by a random chick who now wants to date me manga. This guy at least takes some initiative like what 40 chapters in at least?
I think many people take this way too seriously, so I agree there. It's meant to be a comedy and is not trying to be realistic.
There are people who take this too seriously since it is fictional, sure. The discussions on here were intense, what you seem to be missing is people dislike the fact it's being played for comedy or as her expressing her feelings dishonestly.

In reality most men put in Shirota's situation would find life a living hell and would probably kill themselves if it persisted. The reality of how dire the consequences are, especially since we see them begin to take place before she does the initial reset it's not really a funny situation at all. If you don't think being falsely accused of sexual misconduct where there is a huge social power dynamic involved is something people would get real feelings about I don't know what to tell you.

That's the exact reason people get pulled out of the story and find it so distasteful.

If it's not that big a deal to you then sure but I find it so weird that people think it's an overreaction especially with this series. Reread the first few chapters again, or even watch the anime I think it adapts it pretty well. If we weren't in the world of a manga where it's obviously she really likes this super plain super normal guy cause they played together when she was 6 it would not be a cute quirk, it would be psycho behaviour.

I'm way over it at this point but I still can't get invested in the romance between them either.

Thanks for the TL btw, Kendo Girl picture reminding me why I still read this.

It's an overreaction if someone is still hung up about this 60 chapters in. Even your comment is more of what I mean--"in reality" what exactly? This series is far beyond reality and many series are wackier than this one with less reaction. All kinds of morally reprehensible nonsense happens in series and the same people don't bat an eyelash.

The fact is this series is popular because there are many people who do understand it's place as an unrealistic romantic comedy, who also understand that comparing how a normal man would react in a series like this doesn't make much sense. I have no issue if someone is put off but continuing to read the series only to make the same comments is whatever to me. If that's the case, what is the point of reading this far, to say the same things over and over? The series is what it is and has been since the start. It has its fans.

You're aware hate watching/reading is a thing. I get being sick of people complaining, that's the human experience.

It's the same energy as people going into NTR hentai comments and complaining that there's NTR in their NTR hentai that was labelled NTR. It's the human experience.

Takamine's fat titties drop in their update box and they click and the self insert is so pathetic it takes them out of it. People will complain till this series ends, in the final chapters comments people who dropped this will return to hate on how bad the ending is.

Also I was reading something, got sick of one aspect by chapter 6. Decided to skip ahead at chapter 9 to see if it gets better and it did. Which resulted in me not dropping it. Some people might be doing this and just complaining on the way out since alas, this has not and clearly will not change. The stranded on an island chapters had none of the baggage and were nice though.

Am I the only one questioning how the MC is losing in the first place, he’s been doing this for who knows how god damn long and he’s getting washed by someone on their first day???

because his rival is a cute girl who can get all close and physically personal with the student council president without anyone batting an eye.
And said rival is clearly not above getting bystanders involved in any way that makes MC look "bad" to gain the slightest edge.

y'know what? You're right. It's unfair to you to have to read comments from other people being critical or complaining about something this low-stakes when you're here trying to enjoy yourself. I'll be sure to stop engaging with this manga so that I don't contribute to that affecting you.

I read this normally and understand its ecchi slop. I just hope for better writing and character development. Unfortunately It's a train wreck that I can't look away from so Im stuck to the end. The author has given small bits of hope that this will get better and then we get arcs like this where he resets Takamine-san and Sharon's back to default. Unfortunately for non-axed manga series you have to invest 100 chapters minimum to see permanent progress.

Yada yada yada yeah sure let's just get to the point she tells the girl to piss off or manipulates time so he won its one of those two scenarios unless the author wants to portray takamine as selfish and self centered
