Yeah, she's written as absurd character that would be straight up retarded in real life, which mean she's basically mentally younger then main couple. It still sucks IMHO because that removes sexiness from her action, it's like dumb kid seeing a dick for the first time.
And it's shitty that we either have predatory teacher that goes for the first time drunk kid in the middle of the night, or idiot horny-feral girl that goes for a dick in the middle of the night. What was wrong with couple of horny teenagers making their own porn in the first part of this manga?
Yeah as someone who honestly
really liked the nifty and unique love story of two people trying to understand themselves and their place in the world by bonding in a powerfully intimate way, creating erotica, all I can be is annoyed by this arc. The teacher may be the shark jump moment, where the stakes no longer apply and you realize that things are gonna be different, but this has pushed it into comedy hentai or slapstick fanservice stuff where I am
supposed to be laughing at this insane character's insane actions.
Like, I can't hate it, you know? Cause its well drawn with lots of great visual gags and decisions, she's over the top and in another manga would honestly be a lot of fun, and its consistently surprising, but it's not what I came here for. It doesn't feel like filler, it feels like a genre switch.
Like, remember how the first volume's big turning point was how Shirasawa was so
frustrated that he filmed something so half-assed? Remember the romantic moment where Kaho put her sweatshirt over him when he fell asleep and thanked him, because he took her seriously and worked tirelessly to figure out how to put her in the best light? That was GOOD SHIT MAN. Shirasawa confessing to Kaho that he doesn't really understand what it means to be close to someone, and Kaho realizing that's why he films them, and why he doesn't know what their relationship even is. The fucking BLANK LETTER SCENE? Even that one time when Shirasawa was tied up and answering questions, a mirror of the first real video, how Kaho reacted to being told that he masturbates all the time to the videos he made of her? The sudden and strange intimacy that created? It was good! It was
really unique.
I feel like the author has never known what to do with Touka. She's never fully made sense. The first time we see her she slaps her sister who is very clearly afraid of her and berates her for going home with a man. The second time she's a pushy airhead who talks about her sister betraying her and ends up with the delusion that Shirasawa loves her. The third time she exposes everything her sister is doing to their mom and starts a huge fight. I've never understood her, and I still don't. We still don't know why she has such a grudge and nobody's come anywhere close to explaining it. The sister's relationship has turned absolutely bizarre now too, with Kaho being totally fine with going tonsil to tonsil with the sister who seems to
fucking hate her.
I don't get it. It feels like whenever Touka gets involved we switch up this whole premise and tone and idea behind the series, and it is
dragging on her right now. Multiple chapters focused on one event on one day, multiple times, all just confusing and feeling like we ended up more confused and bogged down than we did before. Which, in a gag manga, is what you want. You want to go from gag to gag, from strange situation to strange situation. This would be fine if it was what it was the whole time, but its not and I'm annoyed because I wanna get back to what it was
