Yeah, especially without marketing in advance it would be a tough sale indeed without resorting to such wily methods. Like even if the story is good it's not like word of mouth about it being good would have time to spread during the event itself, as not many will have time to read it even if they buy it. So competing against more "immediate" offerings like food stalls... oof.
