Mom is still the worst character in the whole manga but at least she is not a demon.... A DAYUM Connie looks SO HOT AND COOL! Love her.

As for why the anime didn't follow the manga, well… they probably weren't confident enough in its success to plan for a second season. In these conditions it's best to just make sure that it has a proper ending.

Why they made Connie such a bitch in the early episodes is still a mystery though.

WTF Ayano's father was around the whole time? Where the fuck was he? No wonder Ayano has parental abandonment issues! Her mom disappears without a word and no contact for years, and we only find out her dad is even alive when her mom shows up.

Read this chapter after watching the anime has pour some incredibly high levels of salt on me, that ending to the drama between Uchika and Ayano was pure bull, and this version of her is not any better so i'm hoping this time we don't get something like that.

Can't really appreciate the chapter while being so mad lol, guess i'll read it again in a couple of days.

I agree I figure the anime strayed so far from the manga to actually wrap up the story in 1 season. I figured that was also why it got 13 episodes instead of the usual 12.

They did a HORRIBLE job of wrapping it up though. It's like someone popped into the writers room for episode 13 and said "change of plans...we won't wrap this plot up neatly...leave room for another season"

I got triggered by the end of the anime.
TBH the only characters I liked in the anime were Ayano and Elena. And I hoped someone would slap Ayano's mom or at least explodes at her for being this irresponsible. I was really frustrated to see Ayano lose this match.
Guess I'll need to read the manga and hope it won't be as bad.

Oh, she does get called out in the manga… eventually. As for the anime, I honestly prefered Nagisa to Ayano after the former gets her act straight around episode 3.

And yeah, the wrap-up leaved to be desired, but I don't really see much room for another season. At least not one that follows the manga.

Mangá readers that say it's better than the anime are delusional.
Everything bad in the anime is worse in the mangá.

The resolution between Ayano and her Uchika in the anime was simply "healing".
Uchika is still a garbage and criminal person, but at least now she will leave Ayano in peace and Ayano will stop remembering that she even exist.
