Is this an original, or adapted from LN like Archimaira?
Pretty sure there have been 2 i can think of that fit that descriptionI feel like there was a series damn near identical to this a few years back that got axed super quick...? We'll see how it goes, but this feels like it'll die fast.
Seems a little unfair of a comparison just because they use the name Overlord.so.... overlord alter? i mean fuck it ill give it a shot
Aside from the name(which isn't actually the same because that one was overlord in kana and this one is haou) they both have a guy getting sent to a new world with his loyal army.Seems a little unfair of a comparison just because they use the name Overlord.
Or should we also bring up the porn game of the same name?
Or the two Playstation games with Picman minions.
Mc transferred into game world filled with npcs he/his guild had created and designed, into his own base.Seems a little unfair of a comparison just because they use the name Overlord.

A good thing?"Ugh I'm tired, time to play games!"
"Whoah, where am I!?"
While it's a good thing that isekai's have become such a well known setup that we can skip the intro and immediately dive into the new world, there is something about this particular intro that feels particularly lazy.
Regardless of your feelings about the isekai genre as a whole, I think being able to quickly start the story without having to tread the same old ground of 'whoah, I'm in a new world? B-b-but how!?' is good, especially if it's not particularly integral to the story.A good thing?
This attitude is exactly why we get fed the same old slop for 10 yearsRegardless of your feelings about the isekai genre as a whole, I think being able to quickly start the story without having to tread the same old ground of 'whoah, I'm in a new world? We don't need to see batman's parents dying, or superman falling from space, in every movie they appear in - we all know their origin stories now, and it'd be tedious otherwise.
Likewise, we don't need a reason for a normal person to be 'isekai'd' in these stories now, we all know the setup.
Righto. No matter how cool and original the isekai story and world is, we have to sit around reading the same tired intro sequence, because it'd be slop otherwise, got it.This attitude is exactly why we get fed the same old slop for 10 years
No u meathead im talking about this premise as a wholeRighto. No matter how cool and original the isekai story and world is, we have to sit around reading the same tired intro sequence, because it'd be slop otherwise, got it.
We could have the protag simply say "whoah, I've been isekai'd!" and start the story, but why do that when we can spend ten to twenty pages meandering at the beginning, despite the audience knowing what an isekai is from cultural osmosis.
I love watching ANOTHER interpretation of Spiderman's origin story, it NEVER gets old! I clap every time!!
I love reading about Truck-kun taking another victim over and over again!!
It's slop unless it has my repetitious slop intro, right buddy?
