It's just a manga. It's not real advice.

But also.

That's not great advice. Being proactive, being intentional with your choices, and moving forward on that intent, is going to be more fruitful than "waiting for your options to boil down". Life doesn't tend to just... proceed. It moves along, sure. But being intentional with your actions, even if those actions are just "find what you want to do", will be a good way forward.

He's not telling her to wait. He's telling her to not stress and overthink it. She's already being proactive; that's why he said "as long as [she's] serious...". Because if she's already approaching the matter seriously, then her passions and talents will inevitably shine through over time.

There's also the fact that "adult" is borderline arbitrary. Even once you become of legal age, you're not magically an adult. Nor when you have a job or a career or a family. At the end of the day most of us are still kids on the inside, using a combination of "fake it 'til you make it" and the trials and errors of life experience to inform our decisions. So there's no reason for her to spin her wheels putting excess expectation on herself.

I think that waiting is also part of life, not in a static sense but knowing that sometimes you just have to let things move a little bit. Myself being someone with a lot of interests, i had trouble finding one thing that i liked more than others so i can understand when he says that "things will work when they are meant to work" but that is just me lol.

Rugby boy becomes an Artist and she models for him, problem solved :pacman:
Then she disappears from his life because of family issues without saying much, she moves on, marries someone else and has a daughter with them, then the husband dies early and she becomes a single mother, ultimately one thing leads to the other and she ends up asking the rugby-artist guy to let her daughter and herself stay with him until their apartment is fixed.

We've come a long way from the early days where people were weirdly screeching about NTR and calling the FMC a whore and the MMC a spineless beta cuck.
Honestly if I was her I'd tell him:

"Bitch, you could not even keep mom with you from how much of a pathetic bum you where, who are YOU to tell me about how to lead my life?"
Me now:

And if I was him, I kindly would answer : "The guy your freeloader of a mother came begging to on his porch a few months ago because you two were about to experience the hobo lifestyle deluxe."

He might be a bum but at least, he has a stable income and roof over his head, which is more than some people...
