I couldn't get through this whole chapter. At least cheeky gyaru has an alternative translator. I fear this one will be doomed with only having this trash

And I'm not even altering the story because "I think I know more than the author." In my country there is a manga translation company that only adds the country's slangs and mannerisms, but they don't change the story.
I can only speak for myself, but I prefer translations to be as close to the source material as possible. Italian and African American slang, phrases, and accents don't exist in Japanese. They have their own unique and different slang, phrases, and accents. Part of the charm of reading manga, is Japanese culture. If I don't understand a reference or joke, it's motivation to learn more about it Japanese culture.

Let me give you an example. In Japan, if a student dies, other students will leave a flower on the empty desk, in remembrance of the dead student. But if the student is still alive, and they leave a flower, it's a form of bullying. Essentially saying, "I wish you were dead". I didn't know this the first time I saw it in an anime. But after looking it up, I now get the reference when I see it.

Now let's say that this exact situation with the flower bullying happens in a manga, and the person translating it thinks to themselves, "the people reading this aren't going to understand this, so I'll help them by making it something they can easily understand." In doing so, they erase over the picture of the flower on the student's desk, and replace it with a note saying "I wish you were dead." While well intentioned, the translator has washed away the nuance and symbolism of the original bullying, and replaced it with a blatant threat.

When you change dialogue to add Italian and African American accents, you are erasing whatever subtly, nuance, meaning, or humor originally existed. I have no idea what was originally said. I don't even know what has been lost of altered. This is the issue I have with your translations.

yeah, that's awful. the translation should be in as a neutral tone as possible, no slang, no vernacular. like if the translation was somehow transported back in time 15 years ago it would still look normal to whoever was reading it.

hm why do i feel like this is gonna end soon?
Right? That is, at the beginning it was about MC giving better working conditions to his Maids. Then it moves to "Let's use lesbian sex to make a peace treaty" to "I have to rescue my sister using lesbian sex with the Succubus king." And now Is "All the characters with name are in the same room and have had lesbian sex.". I don't know much about the author so I don't know how they makes manga. But I can't even think how they will return to the normal plot after God reveals himself as a voyeur who records and sells lesbian porn to Make money.

Would chicken gravy and cherry ice cream taste good, because it is free? I would argue that it would still taste bad, regardless of being free. But taste is subjective and you enjoy the replaced dialogue. Touché. I do not speak for everyone. My apologies for implying that I speak for everyone.

But I won't be leaving the restaurant. If you're allowed to like foods that I don't like, then I'm allowed to dislike foods that you like.
You most certainly are - just don't mind the people laughing at your impotent ass as you complain into the void about something that you can easily change.

I'm guessing that you're implying that the solution is for me to just not read the manga. To which I would reply, that I like the story and character, and will continue reading it; even with the translation liberties that I don't like. The actual long term solution is for me to learn Japanese. That way, I could just read the unadulterated raws.

I find it interesting how you mention on "people laughing at your impotent ass". When an opinion is unpopular, does that mean it is automatically wrong? Does mockery and laughter equal truth? I would also disagree on the impotent claim. Michika is free to do as they like. I'm trying to persuade Michika to my point of view. Were my efforts in vain? Initially so. But persuading people is a long process of back and forth. And it's not a one way street. I can learn things in the process too. Even if I fail in my original goal, I can enjoy the conversation and debate. Not every conversation has a winner and loser.

Imagine if instead of translating a manga, you were cooking food for other people to eat. And let's say that you love chicken gravy (Italian accent). You love it so much, that you decide to put chicken gravy on cherry ice cream. And since you also love beef gravy (African American accent), you put that on top of strawberry pie. But let's say you're not the one cooking and baking. Several different chefs made the cherry ice cream, strawberry pie, and gravies. And you, without their permission, decided it would be funny to combine them together.

Everyone that tries the food, complains about how the flavors taste terrible together and you are being disrespectful to the original chefs. They are delicious foods on their own; but together, they taste awful. Perhaps you think it's funny to troll people in this way. Maybe your goal isn't to make the manga "better" with your "jokes" that overwrite the original dialogue, but to get off on people's anger. Negative attention is still attention.
I like liberties because fuck stiff 1:1 translations.
Even even worse when translators leave lots of stuff untranslated and span translator notes explaining jokes.
Also taking liberties is more like modding a game.
