That's what I thought too. Sure, there have been some rather grim and cruel internet memes - like 'an hero' for example - but this seems over the top. Even if the internet was joking about it, which is possible but unlikely we're supposed to believe that people would be gathering at the site of this tragedy and publicly screwing around mocking the dead like that?

Considering we make fun of people that are about to be hit by trucks for getting "isekai'd", I would see this as being similar to what plays out here. I just don't get why HE was singled out, out of the 48 other people.

Japan thinking they have ANY influence in the other world is a joke. I get Kento has the influence to destroy the country but Japan? They can't get to the other world without Kento, have no relationship with said country, and any and all threats and in between only exist so long as Kento wants them.

Given that he already had almost no connection to the original world, he has no need to do anything FOR Japan unless he is getting personal benefits.

People making a mockery of big events that they weren't directly impacted by can be an interesting idea but holy shit it was so poorly told. At first I thought the mom somehow knew what happened to Kokubun and she tried to tell everyone but fell into depression because the media made a fool of her or something and committed suicide.
Turns out the people roleplaying on the road was because of isekai fanatics that tried to connect a misfortunate accident to a "fun" theory.
Really badly told for a sound idea.

In the book, it was a specific lookalike who claimed to be him and got the cops and media talking about it, and it took more than a week to verify. That's what made Kento famous, the other copycats were inspired by that first one. The mangaka failed to adequately explain.

All and all, this chapter showed some serious bad judgement and laziness by the mangaka.

Okay for a start. Now continue adding that the building she destroyed was a school, most of the victims were children and that your own mother commited suicide.
Completely bury her under the weight of her crime.

There are a lot of mismatches about this story that just don't quite hit for me. Suddenly we're just now getting an info dump that his home life was quite bad. Enough for his disappearance to drive his mom to suicide and attempted murder. Such heavy content being dropped like that doesn't have as much impact without any buildup. And (one more minor gripe) the art and story flow is so goofy for how adult the content is.
Do I hate it? Not really. Decent time waster. It's just kind of an odd duck I guess.

It's because what his mother did. That stabbing would been on the news alone, but with the overlapping with the disappearance of a whole level of a school building the story was most probably blown up by the media, echoing the MC's name.

I am not even North American You know ones laughing at school shootings are not the same ones with mr C. Yes I used pumped up kids as ost while reading last few chapters. But murder is murder regardless.

It was real. The mangaka failed to adapt the proper explanation: Someone who looks like Kento went in to police claiming to be him and have been isekaid. The father, not knowing how to explain what happened to the mother, took more than a week to verify the identity, during which media speculated.

The bikini warrior is Motomiya, one of the students that was rescued, her schtick is that she's a masochist.

She's not actually that important to the plot, but the theme of the manga covers (you can see them in the art index for the series) is 'attractive girl'.
