The whole point of the “live training” is to have them die and be used as examples scaring the others to stay in the camp.

Hey @cerezeth, thank you taking this series on, My laptop's screen broke, so I was not able to do any cleaning or translating of any kind as I'm using a monitor to use my laptop and anyone walking into my room can see what I'm doing and this kind of stuff is not ok with my parents. If I'm one day able to repair my laptop screen I'll help you with this.

THANK YOU!! I really wanted someone to take this over.

They actually do need the kids as soldiers or cannon fodder, right? But they pick four of the most physically active members. They don't go for the middle-of-the-pack ones, or the charismatic ones with cults of personality built up around them to nip any potential rebellions in the bud (unless the sports team members are the charismatic ones with cults of personality built up around them...)

Point is, ain't it extra dumb to have the strong-bodied ones go off and get killed to prove a point?

There arguably being efficient with the deaths specifically becuase they are cannon fodder. They really only need one person to die and the others to be traumatized enough to help keep people in line. The main reason they would use the actually active ones is because their deaths would be far more impactful then a nobody(like the mcs) with minimal backlash like from a popular kid.

In the novel it is made very clear that these five are supposed to die to serve as an example to the others. They're the most rebellious of the students.

Yo OG @DanyRaid !! Glad to see you're still sticking around.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into this series. I’m really sorry to hear about your laptop screen, I hope you are able to get your laptop screen fixed soon!

Also, I can now officially say that I 100% empathize with you on dealing with machine translation, sometimes the translation is so off, I have to struggle so hard to make any sense of it.

I really appreciate everything you've done so far, and I’m glad to be picking this up. I’m more than happy to collaborate with you anytime, just let me know when you're able to, no pressure! :win:

Most likely that soldier didn't even know that their preparation barely reaches the minimum. I mean, she pointed out that they were putting up a strategy and the old man scoffed at it, so....
Most people don't care about the kids, so it doesn't matter if they can swing a sword or if it's the first time they saw one. That knight lady probably is one of the very few who sees them at least as human beings.

I mean, it seems like the 2 girls are somewhat popular. Possibly the 2 guys too. Besides, if the overconfident and strong-bodied ones die, the other kids will most likely panic and probably start training harder.
For the last guy, I think it's either for him to die first and scare the other 4 or to show that even smart people aren't safe from being sacrificed.

Why go through the whole hassle of summoning people in the first place? Just recruit some bums from the streets and gang press them into combat. Considering the rotten state of that kingdom they have loads of destitute plebs to throw into the meatgrinder.

Because like most isekai novels, otherworlders usually arrive with special powers. In the group they summoned had a Saint, a necromancer, and a number of powerful mages and warrior classes.

they wouldn't be able to easily arrange similar individuals from the native population without drawing a lot of attention, and likely a lot of interference from the factions that support the other Princes.

I think they specified they needed 1 alive to succeed and show the training and being subservient works. He is probably there to report back about the deaths since it would ostracize him but make everyone else better.

Plus as foreigners they have no rights in your kingdom, it's good PR that someone else is suffering in place of your people.

Could also be. Since he said he's good at communication, strategy and whatnot.
