Why novel authors can't make actual useless skills and then improve them?

Feel need to correct this one part. It's slop adapted from WN of same name as i already said in my previous post in this tread.

telekinesis is a strong ability no matter what world you're in... except in that world where it is impossible to use it unless you train it for thousands of years?

yeah if anyone else had 2000 years to train even the swordmaster would be able to slice through that amount of soldiers in seconds unless the writer capped it so hard. heck i'd bet on maid sewing skill to be able to sew thousands of soldiers (imagine HxH Machi to be OP) if she had that time to train. which sounds like a better story imo

The obvious one is that telekinesis would only be considered the weakest skill in a world where the goddess nerfed it into being something that wouldn't be useful without several lifetimes of practice. Even then with the level of ability he already has, he could burst a vessel in his opponent's brain and let them die from a hemorrhage before they even knew anything happened.

Second, if it i so useless, why would anyone tempt fate by naming their child that similarly to the useless skill? But really this is just my hatred for lazy writing showing like naming a boy in a family of doctors Pharma for their pharmaceutical knowledge, or any plethora of characters with the ability to use light magic being named Light or it's synonyms.

Third, the hated and expelled half-sibling in a noble family is such an overused device that saying it is cliche is an understatement. It's a very convenient way to ostracize someone who hasn't had to struggle much in their first 10-15 years of life as the came from luxury that now they'll have to adapt. I'd much rather see the story of the ones that discover their abilities on their own as going to a priest for appraisal is an extravagance for the nobility since the blessings come from god not the priest. All they can do it tell you earlier than others would naturally find out their skills.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to read this slop, I'm just going to complain while I'm at it.

Claiming Telekinesis is "super weak", has the same foresight as claiming written language is pointless, because they "cannot see how to practically useful it is"....Really? Nobody figured out how to use the alphabet? (telekinesis)

The only additional downside here, is that it'd take so long to make it useful, rather just, you know, make it immediately useful with common sense.

The title seems a little short for a premise as high concept as that, you can probably add on another paragraph on there about colonizing the demonic continent or terraforming a moon so the gods have a nicer palace.

I thought the point of this sub genre was that the skills supposed to actually be something seemingly useless(like knitting), and then the character changes how they look at the skill and it turns out to be good(you can unravel your enemies or something like that).

Let's assume that telekinesis is actually super weak... so why not actually ask the god who gave who the skill what's up? Especially when she obviously knows there are weak and not weak skill "Telekinesis takes a long time to train", "I gave those legendary people those legendary skill" - so clearly the skills rankings are by design, THE SOCIAL RANKINGS are by the god's design!

All of his suffering and angst have been because of her, why not chew her out? She shouldn't be training him 'just because', but because it's HER FAULT!
