Did they really need to make up the nonsense about wind skills? It doesn't even make any sense. You could say she has super hearing maybe, but the recording doesn't improve. Either you hear it or you don't, her skill is irrelevant. Why would a wind skill improve your ability to pick up subtle changes in inflection? Just for dramatic effect, wouldn't it have been better without any inner monologue explaining what she was doing? If we just saw panels of her quietly listening to the recording over and over until the single statement?

Hijiri is listening over and over to the recording to level up her wind spirit's ability to determine Truth from Lie, and unlocked that ability as shown, thus she says "LIAR" in regards to the goddess' response to Hijiri's question of if the students of 2C will truly be returned to their home world.

Maybe crack open the WN or LN before making such moronic statements. (FYI, this part is in the LN's second half of Vol 7)

Sure I understood all that, but do you see how it's not very compelling? This is a visual medium. It'd be like if they explained why Sougou and Hijiri were kissing beforehand instead of giving us the shocking first panel without exposition.

Again I'm complaining about pacing and conveyance. I'm not lost about what's happening. Do you see how 9 chapters is enough of a time gap for the reader to get shocked by the first panel? Do you see how that would be ruined if that explanation was in the reader's immediate attention beforehand? Why is everyone so eager to defend the asinine game mechanics of these series, but no one asks if the exposition vomit improves the manga?

Some of them happily complied with the new setting (Yasu, Kirihara, Oyamada), some only cared about protecting their classmates (Sogou among others), Hijiri has her own suspicions since the beginning working with her sister on some stuff and finally you have Asagi who's nothing but an enigma.
