I was already aware from the comments that many people here have watched way too many movies (and read basically no history books) but I guess there's one movie you ought to but didn't watch. The whole purpose of the Nürnberg Trials was to not go an eye for an eye but to implement actual, reasonable, evidence based justice - basically the exact opposite of what you are implying. It's funny how both your idea of good and evil are completely warped.
these family members i was talking about were actual citizens of the third reich.
they constantly quoted their viewpoints on racism an compared their favourite concentration camps with each other until they died of old age.
why are you calling me warped for disliking this?
and regarding the nuremberg trials and other crimes against humanity of that time, many criminals committed suicide or fled the country after WW2, escaping being tried until their death.
eichmann had to be fetched from the mossad agents out of argentina to be tried for his crimes, for example.
execution is an adequate punishment for crimes against humanity, but that is merely my opinion.
