This has taken an odd turn that I'm not really loving. The stakes don't actually feel higher than when the demon king was in charge of Zobul, if anything they feel a lot lower as there isn't really a centralized threat anymore. There's still nothing stopping Rin and Hayato from eventually showing up from whatever plot device they've been busy with and blasting all the remaining demons to pieces including all the humans that took in demon cells. Even if it took killing 90% of the humans on earth it wouldn't be that big of a deal to Rin.
You're right at the fact that Rin or Hayato can wipe out 99% of humanity if they want. And that the problem, they just DON'T CARE or WANT. They are not human, they are Idaten, they are simple, not some kind of mindless simple but still simple so Miku can read them like a book and predict every moves they gonna do.

Think of them as some kind of AI but has a little emotion mixed in instead everything will be much more easier to accept.

1) the people in comments who want miku to die are worse than demons. How dare you xD
2) also miku is not pedophile, that's epstein's occupation. She is an angel fr

Anyway, miku is the greatest character ever written in fiction. Not even imo.
I was thinking "this idaten anime is underrated af" back when watching it in 2021 since its story just keeps getting better and better nonstop and same goes for manga (yet to fell off and I don't think it ever will). It's a crime how noone is ever talking about this masterpiece, even in my weeb circle.
That's all my rant, thank you for reading vesselam.

Glad someone felt the same. Back in 2021 I basically has been only reading manga for a while cuz anime is a pain to go through. Decided to watch anime again for the first time in years and I managed to pick this peak of peak of an anime cuz I was following the manga at that time, it got Amahara and Cool Kyoushinya name on it but it was still kind of an unknown. Sadly due to the explicit material it wasn't able to reach as high as I wish it could, but it still did reach quite high, glad people were not totally stupid. And the soundtrack is fucking peak too, I think it is only like 4 or 5 songs and the ED that weren't my taste. The raw and brutal feeling of it is peak. Also I really liked how the main characters are gods, like not the usual normal happy go lucky gods or just boring convenient evil gods in isekai manga, but actual gods who don't really care about the humans as long as they keep existing. The highlight is definitely when Rin just fucking decimated Zoble, she doesn't really give a shit about whether it is human or demon, her job is to kill demons and she will do that.

Sorry for long rant, but tbh I kinda think Miku was kind of a cheat character ngl. She singlehandedly carried the team, that is too OP, but it feels kinda sad how no other characters of the demon team can contribute as much as she did. Not even the demon lord. Honestly way too OP.

That the things I like about Miku, she's OP as fuck but if we put her in the world where someone like Rin, Hayato exist and are her enemies, Miku's situations are hopeless for real. Like, everything she done after the fall of demon kind are just some struggles that prolong the existence of demon kind a little longer and can be extinguish at whim by Rin or Hayato. Its not that demon win, its just the usual trope "human choose to become demon" and Idaten give no shit to that so demon kind can somehow blend in.

I guess it is because I think of Rin and Hayato like natural disaster. If they decide u ded then u ded I guess like cmon you ain't getting out of it fr fr. Like a super super brutal survival game. And in this impossible game, Miku somehow got the biggest skillset and experience to get her team out of that hopeless situation, despite her physical stats being abysmal(same level as a basic human).

Wasn't the whole moral dilemma from the Nun's point of view about making peace with the demons lay entire around the fact that human children would essentially have to be sacrificed to allow the demons to be able to remain civilized and not just monsters?.

I guess the other Idaten might be cool with it but Gil should immediately go murder mode on all of the demons.
