In another manga damage reflection is comparison to how much MP he has. So, if the attack if overwhelm the MP, it will break. Not sure how mechanism in this series, though.

The summon has to be alive after tanking the hit in order to reflect the damage back. They have a lot of damage resistance to almost nullify that drawback but it is a possibility.

The MC never really wanted to live low, he went to that world as a speedrunner who wants to complete a difficult game. At first there wasn't much direction beyond just leveling up but now that he knows about the demon invasion he is planning on stopping it (beating the game in his eyes). He doesn't really like getting attention from nobles and all the politics nonsense so in that sense it's annoying for him but not too bad.
