To those thinking this is sniping, sniping is more like a discourteous overtaking of a currently running work - and usually presenting your own 'interpretation' of a series and starting it from the very first chapter is not sniping at all (at least in my opinion).
A number of TL groups already did this, and this is more like a TL group showing that they like the series so much that they want to make their own rendition and the act of starting it from chapter 1 is more like showing that a group is really presenting their own way of doing things.
(The manga KiseKoi / My Dress-Up Darling also has two TL groups currently working on it and 'almost' always release it almost at the same time)

It's crazy how pissy people get about someone jumping in on a series, whilst people can be dissuaded by someone jumping in on new chapters if you usually release 5 days after a new chapter drop or something. If someone wants to get into a series and perhaps correct poorly/incorrectly done scans/translations that's normal and has been for ages.

Back in the golden age of scanalation all the main popular Jump series had 5+ groups working on it at any one time. People picked what they liked and read there, this isn't new or even controversial.

If you're upset something you like is dropped or 3 years behind releases then bring some attention to it where people looking for projects. Or commission someone like happened with Astro King kek.

its entitlement on their part, scanlators don't owe readers shit and they're always free to drop a series whenever and the only ones losing are the readers, people do this as a hobby for the most part, mostly passion projects too, its high time people understood that instead of hating on having multiple scanlators for one manga

this is such a dumbass take, again there's no reason to be angry, you're not paying them doofus and this is an improved quality from the previous.
there's no need to ask, the other group is quite literally free to keep working on the thing if they want to, both groups can exist at the same time and you can just shut up like a good freeloader, no one gives a fuck about what you think and what unspoken rules exist that for whatever reason readers have come up with or other scanlators, the only rules that matter are ones enforced by the site. it is the prerogative of the scanlators and not their responsibility as scanlators to talk to each other only IF the site has a rule that says so.
if there's no such rule they can literally do anything within the terms of service of mangadex
