I've been wondering... Is a horizontal scar like the one that crosses Bard's nose actually something that could realistically happen? I see these kinds of horizontal nose scars in manga all the time and I feel like if you actually got cut across the face it wouldn't keep going like that as the protrusion of the nose would push the blade away from your face before it hits your next cheek. The exception to that would be incredibly fast or powerful blows, but I feel like those would then crumple the nose and leave it a tad more messed up than in a case like Bard's.

He got that scar from a claw. If it were a sword it would probably cut right thru his nose and into bone since the skin is pretty thin around there but since it was from a claw maybe the claw didn’t press hard enough to cut thru cartilage and none but enough to cut the skin and trace around the nose.
