You know, she kinda deserves this fate of being comicalized for having the white background on Twitter. What kind of psycho does that?

@XaneKudo It's a web comic... there is no axe.... it ends when it ends...

@Simkin The childhood friend losing is a false trope. It's not that the childhood friend loses, it's that the main girl or secondary girl is the one to most likely win. Childhood friends actually win quite a lot.... in older manga and even modern manga...
Hmmm.... Give me one that I've never read before

There is the myth that being a childhood friend automatically makes you lose.

But there are plenty of childhood friends that win.

The only factor that matters is if the childhood friend is the main girl or secondary girl or not.... but that literally applies to literally every single character that's in the hypothetical harem.

Meaning that being a childhood friend LITERALLY is not a factor in if a person would win or lose.

If the girl wasn't a main heroine, then she's guaranteed to lose, even if she was a childhood friend.

On the other hand, if the childhood friend is the heroine (or secondary), then it's possible for her to win....

So being a childhood friend is a complete non-factor....

It's not that being a cf is an auto-lose but it's the fact that whenever there's a need for a losing heroine, mangakas never shy away from introducing a childhood friend all of a sudden. What you said is correct tho. They do win when they are the main heroine.

Basically, tacked on heroines are the losing trope....
