Well i'm glad it end this way but i can't really understand why the name of Madame is not revealed. It's not like it will a big shock if we know it.

Glad it had a mostly happy ending, but the last few chapters were really hard to follow. Thankfully I think I understood the basic gist of the story.

GOD I AM SO HAPPY!!!!

I am so so glad they ended up alive, well and happy. Reading through this story and seeing them suffer was painful, and I was so tense thinking the author would end it as a tragedy all this time, considering the story of the actual folklore tale. I'm so happy they didn't!!!! Super cathartic. Happy lesbians for the win!!!!!!!

Also VERY glad to see Unnie and her son safe and sound, but with the daughter-in-law too. Perhaps they're even a couple now too...? Double lesbians??

Also very happy to see almost all the men who made them suffer dead, with the exception of Madame's POS brother, and Shim-Cheong's dad. I was really hoping Minister Jang's son had tricked her brother with the government position bs and killed him too, but oh well. You can't win em all.

"Tell him that's the dowry" Asdgshs what a move. Now they have their happy ending, even if it was distorted by history.
I will wait patiently for the next projects of the author

when did I say kill all men? all I said was more violence inflicted upon the male vermin in this manhwa would've been delicious.
honestly your reply reads loosely off as an extension of "not all men"
to which I say, obviously I don't hate all men in this world, but if you're the type of man or person to insist NotAllMen, then I absolutely hate you 🤪

Please, read this chapter before being so categorical.
https://www.tappytoon.com/en/chapters/614074503?

Besides, does every piece of art have to follow modern norms and morals? I just don't see any reason to kill any person in this manhwa. Even sailors in the last chapters didn't deserve such death if we keep in mind the whole situation.
Besides a few male villains, there was a daughter-in-law here. Yes, she was punished, but at least she is alive. Or what about the two-faced servants?

Is lesbianism the only thing that matters to you in this manhwa?

Btw "NotAllMen" what does it mean?

Sorry for my English, esl etc.

Dagnnabit, give us her name!!! The madame deserves to be named. But I guess it fits the tone of the story? With the multiple retellings and rewrites, her name was lost in translation. She's just known as Madame Jang, the young wife that disappeared. Only her Shim Cheong gets to know and appreciate the real her.

That was a great read! If anything, it supported my point, not yours. The author directly writes that even "great" men in histories aren't actually great to women, and the only reason we see them as "great" is that history has usually been dominated by male voices that ultimately upholds the very patriarchal views that privilege these so-called "great" men. The author explicitly states in that link you give that this story is thus a retelling, a reinterpretation from a female-centric view that illuminates the culture of misogyny ALL the male characters participate in. Honestly, did we read the same chapter? :3c

Art is an interpretive reflection of the world and inevitably serves as some form of commentary, one way or another. Thus, whether you like it or not, all art is political, because even apoliticality is a stance. Good art makes a compelling point, an argument about a prevailing issue - and in this manhwa's case, the long standing institution of misogyny in Korea. You can pretend art exists in a cultural vacuum, and people are entitled to the wrong opinions, but at the end of the day, they're just that: plain wrong.

Clearly you forgot some of these "innocent" sailors you invoke actually considered raping/assaulting Shim Cheong. Moreover, ALL of them were open to killing a young girl, something even the kind but ultimately misguided merchant criticized them for. The men in this story are downright unsympathizable, some obviously more than others, but all are complicit in a heteropatriarchy that exists to systemically subjugate and violence women, esp. Queer women. Even the author agrees (in that chapter you so graciously linked): she states outright there are no good men in the universe she created. I'd go even further: these men need their dicks ripped off and eye sockets gouged.

When did I say lesbianism is the only important thing? Mutilating cisgender men's genitals and deforming their corpses is extremely important to me too. I'd genuinely hoped I'd made that crystal clear.

You know Google's a thing right? Lucky for you, I'm feeling generous rn so read up: https://www.deccanherald.com/opinion/panorama/not-all-men-but-enough-835083.html
