colour would be pretty darn hard to communicate with even if you have extra cones in your eyes to see lots more colours. Making them properly is another story... unless inaccuracy of the colours shade may be the same as chicken scratch writing lol
I think colored flash cards would work well for communicating with the Lizardmen and Krakens. Lots of trial and error, but you could eventually have a set of colored cards with human definitions on one side and color definitions on the other.
Based on this chapter it seems like kraken would be even more proficient at communicating in the lizardmen's written language than the lizardmen would be at writing in it themselves, since they can easily get the colors they need. Though maybe the resolution on what colors the kraken can change to is lower than the lizardmen's ability to perceive color?
its cool on how linguist MC got confused on the kraken's shade of color, whereas Best Grill can't relate at all to mc's sentiments because of her inheriting her mother's eyes of that of a werewolf's where thye only percieve of a limited shade count of blues and yellows like that of dogs
