It seems strange the neighbouring country would send such a prince, unless they are looking for an excuse to sever diplomatic relations with Freesia. It would basically be a direct insult to send a prince who would soon cheat on Pride, especially since their prince won't be the king, just a prince consort with Pride becoming the ruling queen. If I had to guess, there's a faction besmirching the prince for their own political reasons.
