Weight doesn't matter much if it's significantly higher than air resistance. Diving straight down does make you fall faster than if you fall with your body horizontally, but the distance you need to fall for that to be significant is much more than most falls.

As clichéd and ridiculously ‘only in shoujo land’ as this arc and its ending is, it still made me smile. Sometimes a nice, cheesy, warm and fuzzy happy family ending is a nice palate cleanser. It helps that ‘grumpy criminal cat begrudgingly acquires found family’ is one of my favorite chicken soup comfort tropes.

It was mentioned later that he has improved on his ability, so now he's able to teleport more. I don't remember exactly where.

Nobody gives a shit about Val having a nice side! You've already spent four fucking chapters on this dumb fucking side character who spends his time scamming and killing.
Just teleport them to the cliff and then spend some actual time and effort on an epilogue, especially if you're getting canceled in the next chapter.
