I feel like the author of this has some personal frustration he is trying vent out, this looks edgy without having an aim, is like the writing comes from anger and frustration.
I don't find this to be good, the story, the characters, the aimless impotent frustration I sense from the writing.
The art makes me think that the artist doesn't believe in this chapter either.

Feels more like a fetish thing to me.

I think I read somewhere the author has some medical issues? That's why the publication is kinda slow.

OTOH, despite the gamey premise, I think story wise it's structured kinda like mid-2000s magic academy LNs. So the story develops by introducing new antagonists from the school background. The first one will actually be this 'friend' character.

But that's just my guess. Anyone who's read the novel, share insight please.

Seiichi is guilty, I won't denied it, but let me play the devil advocate for his sentence :

Spoiler: Seiichi's main drive and objective

he learnt that his objective to cure his little sister of her incurable disease is almost impossible because since he get no memories of his time in the dungeon he knew he died in there, and only people who never lost their soul device (the crystal thing) when dying in the dungeon can use skill outside of it (the only possible way now is buying an elixir for a cure from the store in the labyrinth which which someone as about 1/1000000 to ever see it (Touma's luck is insane) And and even if he ever find, he don't know he would what is to pay for it. And even if he bought it, dungeon items progressively lose their effect when out in the reel world and their academy don't allow student to ever get out until their graduation. )

Spoiler: Protagonist's responsibility in his behavior

getting your soul device (which even outside your body is still connected to your mind and soul ) used in experiments like strength test, boiling, etc for several days by your innocent friend and comrade MC who doesn't know any better is not good for either your mood, psyche, nor sanity.
(Which is why Shizuka cannot live without the protagonist now, because everything he feels (hunger, thirst, arousal, etc) desire or sometime even see and think go right in her like her owns through her cristal embedded in his hand in real time and continuously)
