In ch47, I said that I want them to be more vulnerable with each other, and this is EXACTLY what I meant. I love these two codependent girls, and I hope everything goes well for them.

Now in this chapter, the title has both their names since they're now walking along with each other hand in hand.

It's not just that, when we get the chapter of Igarashi talking to Tomikawa, the chapter is titled "Tomikawa-chan and", without the second person. Something is missing from that sentence, it's like Tomikawa is trying to sort of reach out to the unwilling hand of Igarashi. And now, she's reached out for Hiiragi's hand, and she was met with a kindred soul, who grabs her hand in response.

You know, I came from the other lesbian duo story that this author wrote and was not expecting this to get this dark! It's probably naive to think that that couple could adopt these two. It wouldn't even help them that much more than them just being friends.

Oh, now might be a good time to mention that Tomikawa and Hiiragi are only 15 years old, according to the author's twitter.


Poor kids, indeed. They shouldn't have to be having these kinds of conversations at their age.

Oh thank you, I want to share so much more from her twitter but I'm holding out until we get closer to catching up. Tho for now might be fun to share some early drawings of what would become Hiiragi, before she even had an official name:

In the earliest art it doesn't seem like she had a strongly defined personality outside of "fucked up edgy OC, infrequently wounded/associated with blood" alongside one early piece that I... won't include in that batch. It's only after she got the name "Hiiragi" that she started turning into the character we know and love today.

There are also early beta concepts of what would turn into Hiiragi and Tomikawa's characters, although the designs seem a bit... swapped.

At the time just playing around with the concept of "abused girls" but seems she eventually evolved these into Hiiragi and Tomikawa, and their eventual more finalized interpretations. Hiiragi would eventually be drawn repeatedly before the first pages were posted, but Tomikawa's design wouldn't be finalized until the first page dropped. But for those beta arts, you'll need to subscribe to her Fanbox.

Also because I feel like people need something wholesome after all... this, here's Tomikawa and Hiiragi if they met as kids:
